The Hawaii County Council must, by ordinance, create and designate the speed zone etc. If the signs are just put up at the discretion of the subdivsion and not as directed by County Council ordinance, then they mean nothing.
Correct. The ordinance is 24-297. It shows the speed limits and traffic controls for the private streets by District and subdivision. Handy thing if you get a ticket and want to make sure its an official traffic control violation and not based on someone just putting up any old sign. [Wink]
