Our Community Policing Officer, Sandor Finkey, encourages us at Neighborhood Watch to report every single instance of crime, no matter how minor it may seem. Even "nuissance" issues like illegal ATV use and excessive noise should be reported because doing so not only creates a statistical imprint, but it lets people know that limits will be enforced. To put it another way, if criminals look around and see it's easy to get away with minor infractions, they don't worry as much about moving up the scale to the next level. One of the ways New York, NY went from being one of the worst crime cities to one of the best was the decision by the leaders and citizens to enforce every single law all the time, from littering and loitering on up.
