A good $1000 alarm still being one of the best investments one can make in personal safety
I also have two gates on the drive, the first lets you into the compound. There is another chain gate 150 feet up the drive 200 feet south of the main house. Im the only one with a key to that one. The lock being line of sight from my kitchen window.
There is no place to turn at the second gate ..... car comes up there - he belongs to me for at least the next few minutes as they frantically back up as I approach with a questioning look and an O' O' bar- word gets out - grin
It also makes for a car free zone around the house ... good secure feeling as we have kids next door that like to wander by
