by November it will be in the high 70's to low 80's (like it is most of the time)
Shorts, swimsuit, short or no sleeves, umbrellas (for trips into town), slippahs, one light jacket & a pair of light pants (this is what you need all year round, so there really is no big difference... if you want want to go to the lava flow, more durable pants & shoes...up to Mauna Kea for the star gazing - a fleece top & jeans & socks & shoes will do.
A nice aloha dress or shirt, dress shorts, skirt or slacks is the most you need for any dress up occasion. Not much dress up stuff in Nov, just Black & White First Friday...UHH has student works, the play Armadeus & Instrument Ensemble concerts in mid-November... the Palace: http://www.hilopalace.com
ETA: Seaview SPACE has the Puna Men's chorus performance on Nov. 7: http://punamenschorus.org/Welcome.html
You may want to go to the Black & White First Friday (Nov. 6) in Downtown Hilo... it is a big party with galleries & stores open & all sorts of fun for the evening - so something black & white & fairly light & able to get wet if it rains...
If you want to go kayaking in Hilo Bay - swimsuit & sunscreen, snorkeling, add mask, fins & snorkel
