I rather strongly guess that the number would remain basically unchanged. I don't think the overall number of firearms correlates to the number of deaths due to violent acts, there might be a slight increase of accidents due to a lack of firearms training, but not a significant number. And as for accidentally injuring a family member or friend or anyone, that goes to the issue of adequate training, not the idiocy one see's on tv, where firearms are treated as some kind of magic wand that one waves around. Just like any other dangerous mechanism, a firearm needs training to operate in a responsible manner.
