I agree completely, Dick. But you see the problem, some people think guns are for protecting not only their own lives, but also their neighbor's stereo.
Some states have found a (in my mind) happy medium. You can have guns, as is your right, but keep them at home. The problems start when people try to restrict this further, or, conversely, the gun owners start demanding their "right" to bring guns where they're not wanted.
