Absolutely right on the webcam. Check there first. The plume is the SOURCE of the SO2! So don't look at the data. Check the plume itself. When it is blowing away from the camera, as it usually is, that's good! When it blows toward the camera....very bad! By the way, the webcam is completely black at the moment. I take that to mean that the top of Kilauea has completely blown up in a cataclysmic eruption that has melted all tourists at the summit, leaving only the prints of their tennis shoes and Bass Weejuns as evidence of their previous existence.
