I will agree with an earlier post that tax evasion is relevent here. My problem is what I percieve as enforcement against the "little guy".
The very wealthy avoid taxes by exploiting loopholes, heavily lobbying the legislature, and keeping lawyers on retainer for this express purpose. Legal? well yes. Ethical? that's not so clear cut.
I would venture to say that the majority of these small "cash business" people avoid taxes for medical reasons; I'm talking about back problems;
Back taxes, back rent, back car payments ............The kind of problems that even a tax attorney can't fix.
