I agree with you! My wife brought it to my attention that the sale items are the only thing in the Keaau Foodland worth purchasing,and are some what competitive. Regular priced items are in the same ball park as previous Grocery Store. The only difference is Foodland is fresher than 'Puna Fresh Foods'. I always enjoyed that "oxymoron", 'Puna Fresh Foods', and having to shop there once in a blue moon. It was always hard to find something fresh! Everything on sale there usually had less than a week left on experation date! Seems that was the only reason 'Puna Fresh Foods' had any kind of open sale. To much said product with expiration date right around corner. Heel ,even their openly outdated stuff thrown in a bin near frozen food section was a joke! All these outdated items were marked down less than 40 cents from original store price!

With Keaau's Foodland prices lingering right around the same as the former resident, 'Puna Fresh Foods'. I don't expect Foodland to last much longer than one year! They will belly up too at that location! To be honest with you, I think the Keaau Foodland novelty has worn off already. Once you get you receipt from them and look it over....I promise you, your next grocery run will be to Hilo once again!
