There is plenty of geothermal. The problem is that the state TAXES the steam that comes out of the ground claiming they own "mineral rights" on it. The result is that the geothermal energy which should be very cheap to produce ends up costing the same amount as electricity from oil/coal. Iceland powers nearly their entire country with geothermal and has very cheap rates.
