raised floor vs. slab
#6
I am very fortunate to have the convenience of slab while on post and pier. My house was built over a large puka. The house is on post and pier but built in the puka. And so, on the three sides where there are entrances, it is at "street level". There is no step up from the patio and only one step up from the main entrances. I am partially lame due to a neurological condition, and so that's a big plus for me.

So, find a puka and build in it....you will have the benefits of both slab and post and pier.
