raised floor vs. slab

Thanks Glen; Your post brings to mind one of my first thoughts after 4 days of weed wacking revield a raised area 6' higher than the front 2/3 of the lot, with a steep rise running accross the lot. That is, build P@P on the lower section close to but not abutting the rise, park on the high ground and, walk a level bridge over to a lani on the back side of the house. The catch is, ramping up to the plteau would take a lot of fill and retaining walls on the sides. So after talking to one gradeing contractor I put that plan on the bottom of the pile. I will revisit that option. Thanks again;
