I live in the boonies like you and have 7 meg dsl,
i ASSURE YOU 100% that someone around you has internet, you guys could cooperate and share it all with antennas and wifi, in hpp someone around you has dsl, walk around with a wifi scanner and then locate some wifi and talk to them, dont just use it. oftem times just paying someones internet bill will help them get an antenna pointed at your house
if you have a friend on the same CO as you with internets you can get a "bell and buzzer" loop to them (3$/month) and hook up some SDSL boxes.
you can always get a t1,
also dont forget if hitel QUALIFIES you for dsl but is out of bandwidth, you can get internet, your persistence is what is keeping you offline in that case.
