Thanks Tink, will do, now I aint no toe stepper. I am a fairly skilled hard worker who shows up over and over again on time. I am not afraid to replace someone who isn't or doesn't. I hope thats not considered toe stepping. Ideally no one looses a job for me to gain one. Though it doesn't always work that way.

AS a tradesman, you may have better luck starting your own side jobs. One thing I noticed about locals is, they are all musically inclined, and they also all each have their own side business doing some sort of trade. Thats why it is so hard to find work here as a laborer, because the market is flooded. As a restaurant worker you can always find some sort of job in Kona side at least I would think.

Oneself I do see all the ads for restaurant work on the kona side. I really want to stick to the Hilo,Puna area. My resume stretches back into the 80s, I'm 48 now and have been a key holder / manager /Head bartender/waiter in some pretty reputable establishments. That being said I'd rather be a dishwasher in Puna than a G.M. in pittsburgh and am willing to do so. Somebody in someplace over there will be lucky to have me IMO. I am a customer service expert and have trained many people in the art of attentive service. Seems its always been about working with aloha since before I understood fully what that means. I just updated and printed 50 resume's and will be droping some off on tuesday in Hilo as soon as I get off the plane. I already have some places picked out. Then wednsday in Pahoa and volcano. Really can't wait to get there. I'm lucky to have the means to go awhile without a job but I really like to work and have a routine. I really want to get some land and start a little homestead. I will feel more comfortable with that pursuit after I'm employed. I cant think of a better way to meet some of you Puna webbers than to give you some service that exceeds your expectations.

Aloha FJ: a pre-welcome to your arrival on the eighth. I have seen your posts about wanting work right away and can give you some action after you arrive. I also strongly suggest that you visit Kaleo's right away as Leslie has a turnover that keeps her looking for good help and by your words you qualify. If you land in Puna a restaurant job in Pahoa would be ideal commute...

sent you an email - right now their are things like newspaper routes, tour operators and even some restaurants & the UHH cafeteria is hiring (now is so much better than in a month, when college students are also looking... even one of the museums is looking for p/t maintenance (like most here, the restaurants & service work may start with P/T hours... you gotta build from that)
