hawaii gun control laws
As for Hawaii not having a HUGE interest in guns. Here is more about me. I sell accessories for modern style weapons. Ar15, AK47, shotguns etc. I sell ALOT of stuff in Hawaii. So many of the people all around you have military style weapons. Its not much different than the mainland, just less people for now. More and more move here ever year and no one checks their containers. I personally brought over ten legal, military style rifles and a few handguns. All are Hawaii legal and registered based on the commi laws of Hawaii. 1000s more are brought into Hawaii ever year. Now that we have a sports authority in Kona it will go up VERY fast on the BI. Just in 2003 6,778 new firearms were imported into Hawaii.

Soon Hawaii will have just as many guns as most states. The big difference is the only people carrying them will be our almost non existent police force and the drug dealers, gang members, criminals, and all the other bad people who might believe $25.00 or a nice digital camera is worth taking a life for.

I will be leaving this goofy state that doesnt abide by our constitution as soon as the real estate market comes back around.

You keep saying Hawaii's gun laws are not constitutional. How about justifying your comments!

We have the right to free speech!
We have the right of religious expression!
We have the right to peaceful assembly!
We have the right from unreasonable search and seizure!
We have the right against self-incrimination!
We have many right guaranteed by the Constitution of the United States of America!

Each of these rights has reasonable restrictions and limitations that have been upheld by the Supreme Court of the United States of America. Why is it that when it comes to the 2nd Amendment, some feel that right is above all other rights? Why do some feel that all other aspects of the US Constitution should be thrown away in favor of gun rights? Why is it that some feel all our rights are governed by the final interpretation of the Supreme Court except when it comes to gun rights?

The U.S. Supreme Court finally made it's ruling on individual 2nd Amendment rights. You may not like it. You may disagree. You may have felt let down. But they ruled and they said what your constitutional rights are and what is not your constitutional right. You finally got your chance and day in court. You even had the Justices stacked the way you wanted them to decide this case. They made their decision. It was a victory for gun rights but it wasn’t the VICTORY that some had mistakenly built themselves up to believe was the constitution. These were Justices that were picked for their pro guns stance and yet they still didn’t give you what you thought you were entitled to. They gave you the rights that the Constitution of the United States of America gave you, nothing more – nothing less. Get Over It!

Ya, Well before I get over it, We'll wait and see what comes out of the current session, which has some questions before it. And some restrictions such as those that DC and NYC have in place are still in violation of the most recent decision. And Hawaii is still does not have a castle doctrine and wants one to run away from scum in your own home. Want to Bet?

Thanks for being honest enough to declare your vested interest in firearm proliferation.

A bit strange to then complain about drug dealers, gang members and criminals having guns.

some of your comments paul stun me and make ZERO sense.

Actually, I thought their ruling was very narrow and left most 2nd Amendment questions unanswered, save the one big one about whether it's an individual right or not.

Have enjoyed reading both sides of this issue and would like to add my take on it. If the colonists didn't have guns, we wouldn't have a constitution and this wouldn't be a topic. If you don`t like the laws as they are, organize and get them changed.

therefore, I'm a NRA life and endowment member. No other organization fights harder for your 2nd amendment rights and the rights of law abiding gun owners everywhere. We also support legislation to keep career criminals behind bars and use a gun illegally, go to jail laws. We also advocate the use of gun safes to keep guns out of the hands of criminals who break in, be it daytime or night time. Pretty difficult for the scum of the world to carry off a 2000lb safe that is bolted to the floor.

what worries me are terms like the ones used above. It infers a judgement to me, a right to shoot so to speak. I hear some constitutional arguments ... and lots and lots of anger...
