At a glance, perhaps I can agree, but deeper thought would question how arrogant we are for trying to better nature. Genetic manipulation can have long term unintended consequences that we can't even begin to comprehend because they have not yet expressed themselves. How do we return all the coqui's back to Puerto Rico from where they were brought in? I can live with the coquis, but what about the dang mosquitoes???

Genetically Modified Soy Linked to Sterility, Infant Mortality in Hamsters

""This study was just routine," said Russian biologist Alexey V. Surov, in what could end up as the understatement of this century. Surov and his colleagues set out to discover if Monsanto's genetically modified (GM) soy, grown on 91% of US soybean fields, leads to problems in growth or reproduction. What he discovered may uproot a multi-billion dollar industry.

After feeding hamsters for two years over three generations, those on the GM diet, and especially the group on the maximum GM soy diet, showed devastating results. By the third generation, most GM soy-fed hamsters lost the ability to have babies. They also suffered slower growth, and a high mortality rate among the pups.

And if this isn't shocking enough, some in the third generation even had hair growing inside their mouths--a phenomenon rarely seen, but apparently more prevalent among hamsters eating GM soy.

The study, jointly conducted by Surov's Institute of Ecology and Evolution of the Russian Academy of Sciences and the National Association for Gene Security, ..."

Yurtgirl, I don't know where you get this idea that you know more about GM than me. Because I disagree with you?
You're the one who thinks it's done via radiation, you may want to read up on some of the basics.

Since nearly every papaya in Hawaii is GM and since GM is so bad for you, there must be many, many
people who have died from this terrible blight. Can someone provide me with a list of names? Even one?

If people really think Monsanto is an Evil Corporation hell bent on our destruction then why don't you

Let me see if I can pull all these threads together. I'm supposed to live in 100 sq. ft natural canvas yurt, reading by whale oil because I can't afford electric because we can't use geothermal, wind, wave or nuclear, only imported oil. I have to hand weed my vegetable "all non GM" patch because round-up will make me grow a third eye. I can't find a job because we must keep Puna in the 19th century. I have to ride my bike 16 miles to Hilo for most things because big box stores are the work of the devil. Of course i will have plenty of time to scan the skies for contrails from plane posioning me for God know what reason. Hope I haven't missed any other important things I must do in order to satisfy the tin foil hat crowd. If I have I'm sure it will be pointed out to me. BAH
