SPACE, Bellyacres problems

Hey James don't you love it when people get actively involved in a local thread and aren't even on the island and haven't even been to the location. Those are the types that like to dominate a conversation and aren't even listening to you when you speak because they are too busy thinking of what they are going to say next.

Who are you referring to? If it is me, then you are wrong. I have been on Island for over 15 years and have been very active in the local political scene so I am very aware of what is going on in Puna. I have had conversations in the past with James and followed his candidacy. So, please, who are you referring to?

Well whose fault was it. Mr. Ellis was President, Manager, Overseer of BellyAcres when all the violations took place. So, He must have been an active participant, if not directing or sanctioning the actions. WRT a politician who missed his calling.... I think Mr Ellis found his calling in his unethical, manipulative and illegal activities that would get any politician recalled.

Why should he be left alone just because one of his activities have many fans, while most of his other activities are of self interest and done in a very unethical (and illegal) manor.

havent been to the Sat (Outer S.P.A.C.E.) Market yet at Uncles,

but I do know for fact (firsthand) that a few of the Keli'iho'omalu clan (Uncle's adult kids) have actively been telling people to NOT GO and NOT support this Sat Market at their compound!

so Im sure there is more to this... if the people that run the events (Keli'iho'omalu ohana) tell people to not support this weekly event at their place...

That is what I hear too. It is starting to become clear that the majority of Uncle Roberts clan is beginning to see Graham Ellis as a liability. Stay tuned!

So the Keli'iho'omalu family doesn't want S.PA.C.E. at Uncle Roberts on Saturdays? Like so much in Puna, this makes little sense. Is the S.P.A.C.E. market trespassing? Who is the actual authority for the Uncle Roberts property? The clan is incapable of preventing the market? Do they make any money from its operation?

Or, as usual, are you making stuff up? It's fun, yeah? I used to make stuff up all the time when I was a kid. Time to grow up now. Or shut up.

Mr. Easterling, we are ohana to the Keliihoomalu. There is indeed mixed feelings within the immediate family with regard to SPACE. There is history with Mr. Ellis, and the family can share that directly with you if asked, and answer your questions. This is the crux of the problem, as I understand it.

Uncle has been in the hospital and hopefully will come home this week. It's difficult to discuss when his health comes first, and others try to take advantage while he's healing.

When he is not there, no respect is shown to the majority of the ohana who did not want the SPACE market on property. We are all watching closely. Thank you for your concern.

The SPACE family market was supposed to be almost totally local farmer vendors, not crafts and foods vendors. Did this change? Uncle's does charge table rates, so it isn't like they are being shafted. However, if the SPACE market shifts towards clowns, crafts and strange prepared food, then it is questionable whether it is needed.

I don't understand. Who might SPACE market be except a number of vendors?
Assume the best and ask questions.

Misguided at best: having created the problem by allowing massive subdivisions without infrastructure or nearby commercially-zoned land for "legal and proper" commerce, County is at the root of all liability.

My favorite example (again; paraphrased) from a meeting some years ago:

SPACE et al: "We would like some nearby property rezoned commercial so that we can be fully code-compliant."

County: "We encourage everyone to go through the process, but the answer will be NO."
