2018 HPP District Elections
there is going to be a lot of spitting and sputtering

It's impossible to take HPP seriously. Much like the County.

We deserve better, somehow, someway.

Sorry to burst your bubble Leo but recalling will not work either. It has been tried. It is next to impossible to get the 200 signatures needed (that would have changed with the proposed bylaw changes the board and GM refused to mail out for vote)but if you did, the board has the right to not let you proceed. They have the final say.

Katarina, a recall petition was done and it was successful.

The board has no right to stop a recall process. The rep tried to stop the recall, not the board. The rep failed in her efforts and resigned before the recall went to ballot.

Recalls can and will be successful. State law and our bylaws gives members a provision to remove a director if they wish. It is their right.

I'm not going to get into a never ending debate here. I have lived here a very long time and know many who have lived here even longer. A recall has never been successful. Are we better off now than before Maynard resigned(and right before election time anyway). Simple... no. The board can decide to proceed or not proceed with a proposed recall; accepting or not the petition. Does anyone think anything will happen with boards like we've had? No again. And who has the cash to take such a thing to court, hire attorneys etc. No One. No government entity wants anything to do with these types of issues. You have to prove criminality, not just the assumption. I have known several people who have spent a lot of time, energy and money looking into such matters. All have quit as it is futile. You can try it and get things going only to have the court tell you to work it out amongst yourselves and if you win then it is up to you to collect which means more attorneys and court costs. Not trying to rain on your parade here but it's been tried to no avail. If you need to argue more here ..OK but just a does of the real reality.Food for thought.

I believe the recall that I and other members were involved in was the first in HPP history, and if the rep ended up resigning before it went to the ballot stage, I call that successful. It obviously sent a loud message to the rep. No HPP association $$$ was spent.

The results of the election will soon be known. Let's see what happens.

Please don't be discouraged or discourage others. If necessary, it's time to push harder, not the time to throw in the towel. Then they win.

Of course I am hoping, as we all are. If you've read anything I've posted you would know this. I am just very realistic and have been around long enough to know the know.Obviously nothing will change until the majority of the board changes for the better and if this happens the members better insist on the bylaw changes, the forensic audit and professional management. It would be nice to be a community that runs successfully. We could be an example in the right way but with the election being taken over by the GM and majority board you need to be realistic.

Questions I have on the ballot counting process which started at 9 AM this morning....

1) Will Nanawale be using a master list for each district to compare names on the ballots they received? The Nominating Committee got no reply when rep Patrick Murdoch was questioned about this on more than one occasion.

2) Did anyone from HPP hand deliver ballots that they said were dropped off at the HPP office? If so, who delivered them and how many ballots were there?

3) Did anyone count the envelopes that contained the ballots on June 1? Murdoch said this was planned to "set the total number" of ballots. What was the purpose and who told Nanawale to do this?

4) What happened to the ballots "that were set aside" that arrived after June 1? Who set them aside?

The board was advised that ballots received after June 1 are valid and legit. The board mailed the ballots past the scheduled time per the bylaws, w/in AT LEAST 30 days of the election date of June 1. They were mailed either 3 or 4 May.

There was hope that perhaps Nanawale might write the tally of each district down, put them in one of their own envelopes, seal it, and hand it over to rep Leslie Blyth. She would open it at the same time the board received the official count from Nanawale, which is due tomorrow according to the bylaws. This would ensure the number wouldn't change from real time numbers to when the board announces the results.

The Board has no intention of honoring the vote, so it's really not important that the count be accurate.

HPP would be better off hoping for lava destruction. It's the only way to be sure.

Let’s not give up now Katrina. I’ve felt the way you do too, but we can’t give up. We live here.

Hopefully, no matter how much the Election has been tampered with, the only votes the “Offenders” get is their own.

They have had plenty of time to count the votes by now, so when will we get the results?

We will when they decide..... remember last time an office staffer called someone who won then they changed their minds. No one ever learned the truth.
