Well, if his research was right, it means the mountains don't give too much of a toss about the other islands...

okay okay trees should go.

But it was nice to actually play a board games with the kids and not have a phone ring or kids texting during the game. It also was nice for them to figure out how they were going to cook pizza on the BBQ. These moments are priceless.

Gil has sheared back into a Tropical Storm...forecast (with noted low intensity confidence):

Looks like Gil (7-E) and 8-E will miss us!

I've been obsessive with the weather pattern lately. Just now, the tentative path for 8-E (may be named Henriette if grows in might) is forecast to track northwest while Gil continues in a southwest direction. We need to watch 8-E.
My newest favorite link is http://tropic.ssec.wisc.edu/real-time/mi.../main.html!

Now, another obsession! Kapohocat, I must learn to cook pizza on a BBQ grill! Research again, Smile

cooking pizza on BBQ grill? EASY do it all the time. Get the temp up to to whatever you set it 325 or so... Put pizza on pizza stone, wait half an hour ... Done...

As for the storm? I will continue to look out my window... I like this weather station.

Actually, no stone needed for pizza on the grill. Heat the grill, stretch out your dough on a peel and oil the top. Flip the dough onto the grill (oiled side down), cook for about 1-2 minutes (slathering olive oil on the top as the bottom cooks). Flip the dough again so the cooked side is up, lather on sauce and toppings quickly, close the lid and cook another couple of minutes till all is gooey. No, the dough won't go through the grates, and no, it won't stick if your grates were clean and the dough oiled. Yes, it will be delicious, and yes, you will be wet if you do this while the storm is raging.

Doesnt look like we'll be making grill pizza this go-round.

Henrietta is expected to dissipate somewhere around 17N/147W or 470 ESE of us.

The NOAA graphic & predictions only go out 5 days for cyclonic storms, & their 5 day prediction does still have Henriette with tropical storm strength winds... ESE of Hawaii Island with the prediction cone at 5 days still very close to the island...so do not pack away the storm prep kits.. at least keep them handy enough to find if needed late in the weekend to early next week... but only will need if if this storm does not get sheared.... come on shear!

I am going to stick with my prediction!

Even the newest forecast has it down at only 22% chance of being a tropical storm by the time it gets close to us.
