Fishenjim, I always tried to go to the Cubs and Pirate series in Pittsburgh. The blue crabS served across the river was the first stop before walking over the bridge to the stadium. The Bucs are not clicking this year and may need to bring up Polanco to lead off and bring some fire to that lineup. Mcutchens, Marte, and Polanco in the same outfield WOW!.

Hey Jim bring your golf clubs cleaned and your game sharpened or you may find a hole in your bigger wallet (haha)?. Leave your sand wedge back home cause our one and only golf course in Hilo has no traps. The bump-and-run 6 iron is the shot around these inconsistent huge greens at Muni. The cost is fair if you get the monthly card and can play enough 6 hour rounds in the rain. Volcano has a small tight windy course that offers a faster pace with a more shot making type of golf which you may prefer more being from back east.

P.S. with the population growth, It would be real nice to see a covered driving range( That can convert into a weekend teenage dance and game area) open out here on the Pahoa side or a putting green? I believe if you build it they will come??. If you can find a golf ball made out of a GMO grade food folks could use there credit card (EBT) to buy a bucket or two of golf balls daily instead of that six-pack or Burger king meal currently offered?. hey Gypsy, I like what I have seen of the volcano track, dont know about the muni sounds good though I like big greens.I drive long and somewhat straight putt very well but can hit a few ify irons.Been single digit for a long time. grew up caddying at Laurel valley(65 P.G.A 75 ryder cup 90 senior open.)Dad took me to the ryder cup I was 9 seeing johny miller and jack nicklaus play gave me the golf bug right then.its quite the track shot 81 from the tips 7200 the one time I played there this year.so unless your around scratch my wallet should be safe.I will be there on july 8 Dont think the clubs will make it.But some fishing gear will.Brewers play buccos tonigt at pnc park to bad Waiakea wont be there I will.

Fishenjim, let me save you some time, money, and excuses?. Leave your fishing equipment for that stuff is for toothless catfish or bass. The fishing here is very different which does require different equipment that can be bought here regularly and fair priced. Don't bring your snorkel gear either or your cold water swimsuit.

You will want to bring your golf clubs so you wont have any excuses when my 14 year-old son gives you a run for your money. My oldest shot 82 out at Volcano earlier this year from the tips. I use to play the game a bit, even taught the game for a few years at one of the best junior clinics in the northwest. Living out here in the jungle of Puna you learn to spend your time fishing more and swinging less. July is a good month for both fishing and golfing so stock pile your yellow towels for our Hilo rain and your tears when you lose the big one that gets away or get beat down at golf. P.S we play for mango's, Lychee, tee's, or golf balls.

Gypsy no excuses here and crying is not allowed on the golf coarse I dont even bother to curse any more,Its good to know I will be eating lots of free fruit HA HA.I have to many really good fishing reels not to bring some.and yes I have been studying the hawaiin fishing style.Cant wait to do some whipping and really want to see this sliding.I will have to see what the airline will charge to send the clubs,I might cry if they loose them.WE played golf in all weather when younger so I am agood fowl weather player and I have lost the big fish many times and caught plenty,Its just good to be out there fishing(hear that alot when they arent biting)got my clear plastic bobbers and my twister tails ready.might change my screen name to pappio.I hear these tropical fish can be real tackle busters. Some one is going to call us out for hijacking this thread.Cumpton is pitching tonight go bucs

ST. LOUIS -- It had been 22 years since a Cardinals team had been as devoid of power as this 2014 unit, a group that hit a National League-low 105 home runs this season. And yet, October has brought about a power surge.

On Monday, Matt Carpenter and Kolten Wong blasted the Cardinals to a 3-1 win and a 2-1 lead in their best-of-five series against the Dodgers. By winning the swing game of the NL Division Series, the Cardinals erased the necessity of having to beat both Clayton Kershaw and Zack Greinke to advance to a fourth straight NL Championship Series. Now, taking down just one of the two will do.

Wong electrified the largest crowd in Busch Stadium III history (47,574) with his tiebreaking homer off lefty reliever Scott Elbert in the seventh. It was even more than the Cardinals' had hoped for, as they were playing for one run by bunting Yadier Molina over to third after his leadoff double.
