Do people still have power? We do in HIlo
#11
It has been a little blinky, but has stayed on all day. Drove back from Hilo tonight and it was quite dangerous. There were spots on Hwy 11 where the water was rushing all the way across the road, carrying debris and logs with it. You had to dodge the logs (which some did not do well) and the water was halfway up the wheels at some points, and splashing much higher than that. People acted like there were two lanes, but there were not. There was or should have been only one lane -- right down the middle, the highest point of the road. It eased up a little as you got past Panewa, but the lightning flashes were continuous and the rain was very intense. I had heard flash flood warnings before but never experienced or seen a flash flood and so was lulled into complacency I guess. There was flash flooding on Hwy 11 tonight. Honestly, I don't know what's got into this island lately.
