Go Gould I doubt Asian business men tip worse than the merchant marines.Look around the tables are already full of Asian business men.nothing being done to keep them from buying up the place,just keeping there ships out.what a waste of resource Asian ships leave L.A.and sail right by Hawaii can't drop nothing off.protectionism absolutely. Ps.your post on retiree taking shifts is most elegant profound post I've seen here,still has me thinking,I love that.

We are see sawing our way down here in the US. What looks to be a win ends up as a lose when wages for the people sending the goods drop. We the workers got a leg up by getting a larger slice of the pie. It made a huge economy that really did a lot of good for a lot of people.
Piece by piece for the last four decades we as a nation are being taken back to another time. All at once and it would have been a revolution.
Bottom line is if an Alaska Republican from the Interior or Southcentral region of the state is onboard with something somehow it is a giveaway to moneyed up fatcats and furthers a cause - the real cause, back to when way more money went to the top . If there is some good for people in it the real story just hasn't happened yet.
That is what I mean FishenJim. The cabbie in Manila cares about a half a peso tip. They have the good old days working full time there.
