Hawaii life is about to get more expensive

I thought the federal dollars got concentrated here- with the high concentrations of poor. For instance- somehow or another- my two little kids are going to camp this summer from 7:30-3, with lunch paid for and all activities- including movies and beach trips, arts and craft etc paid for-(some of these camps are until 5pm)- for 6 weeks. This is only costing me 120 per kid! I assume this money is coming from federal funds, because my property taxes are so low- that I can pretty much assume the money isn't from that. Anyone know more?

If there is a federal subsidy to the camps - it would come from the federal borrowing .... ie deficit spending and federal taxes

Subsidized summer camp is actually a great use of money compared to military buildup or total surveillance...

agreed - as a society - need to decide whether we are going to spend on education or incarceration

but thats a whole other topic
