I think it's called, "Sweet Cane Cafe" on Kinoole in Hilo, next to the laundromat. They have local "taroburgers" and other organic vegetarian, local food. It's really good!

My old time favorite local eateries included Masayo's in Waimea next to Hayashi Store, Doi Store in Kawaihae, Snappy's Pizza Hilo & Kea'au for the all you can eat buffet, but these places are all gone now.

Lately, my favorite places to eat are at my uncle's, where the meat is from the land, the fish is local caught, and most of the produce was grown in the yard.
The beer flows with the kani ka pila.
