It's hard to feel too sorry for Todd and Mary though, being shrewd business people, they managed to greatly increase their home insurance policy just before the Lava(fire) consumed it. []

I remember when a beautiful crescent shaped, pristine, black sand beach appeared off Kaimu; only to be covered a week or so later.

The Lava was much more accessible there than it is in Pahoa.
