Honestly, I'm not sure where you are running into these "Hawaiians" that you are speaking about. I work with numerous true blooded Hawaiians and they have been some of the friendliest people I have met. Even ones I don't work with and I have ran into at the beach have been extremely friendly and go out of their way to say Hello or ask that we come join them.

Are you sure you are not just generalizing "locals" with Hawaiians? There is a huge difference between the two. A lot of locals have extreme prejudice but that has not been my experience with actual Hawaiians.

I'm not saying you haven't ran into the scenarios that you describe but I think you are mistaken locals with Hawaiians.

You are not going to gain any friends by calling all Hawaiians dumb and that boars have more intelligence then they do. One of the smartest people I know at work is a Hawaiian gentleman. I would consider using spell check before I go and accuse people of not being intelligent. I mean, even if you are not educated enough to spell, you can use spell check and correct 98% of your mistakes.

Also, a quick note, punctuation and paragraphs can be your friend if you learn to use them. It makes it easier to read your ramblings.

I have temporarily locked Haoleproud out for too many posts. Should take a couple days to bring him/her down to 5 average.

Nothing particularly personal.

Scary to think that a person with that way of thinking is on the loose somewhere on this island.

The world is made up of all kinds of people.

The worst in my opinion are child abusers and thieves... too many of them in Puna.

Parts of history are truly sad and should be learning lessons to protect against repeating. Yet the future is almost always promising especially through the eyes of a child.
Catch my older self become cynical about how I view the world works these days. The more time I spend with kids around laughter and new learning experiences the more appreciation I gain for more time to become cynical. Live, catch & release, let live. Trollers.

P.S. have to admit I've gained a learning lesson here myself because now I see what a troll I have now been for the last year. Never really understood the term troll until houleproud showed me the light. Thank you and sorry or throwing out some large hooks in the past. Merry Christmas to all nationalities hope we all can share in the festivities of such a day of Giving.

If you don't live in a world of denial you can see that he has an excellent point. The reverse racism of some locals on this island is pathetic and keeps them in a downward spiral culture or so say the sociologist who have studied our mico-culture in depth.

I don't know the current stats but a decade ago the locals of migrant worker decent had the highest rates in the entire USA for:
spousal abuse
child abuse
incest
spousal murder.

Time for some folks to grow up and quit with the "haole this, haole that" and clean up their own backyard, where lies the most problems on this island. Aloha.

Don't forget about Animal Abuse...

But it all goes hand in hand. Sad really, not enough money or resources to combat the problem. Just making the cycle continue.

For me one thing that has been disappointing about Hawaii is the general lack of interest in solving problems... balanced buy serious heavy breathing over stuff that doesn't matter.

I thought the whole "White Man as Victim" philosophy was tried and defeated in Europe during the mid 20th Century.

It's sad, really, that people still have so little self esteem that they need to denigrate other races. I wish the guy well and hope he gets the help that will bring him peace.
