Senators want state to explore interisland ferry
#11
as pointed out above
the Alenuiha'ha channel is very tough for the distance... and can be deadly if tried at wrong time...

ie this story...
http://www.explorebiodiversity.com/main/...ihaha.html

ps The prices of the ferry will not be good, or make it worthwhile IMO even if you can drive on drive off w/ own car...

save our indigenous and endemic Hawaiian Plants... learn about them, grow them, and plant them on your property, ....instead of all that invasive non-native garbage I see in most yards... aloha

Seems to me like the Kohala and Haleakala mountains are high enough for a zip line each way.
Assume the best and ask questions.

I'd do a zip line, That would be a long long fun ride or instead of a zip line how about cable cars? Fun and what a view. Could be wind powered.

I heard one of the guys that worked on Waterworld rode his jetski across the channel every day...

An interisland ferry system would theoretically qualify for Federal interstate highway funding. One of the H-freeway numbers is already reserved for this purpose.

Im Very glad that another source of bringing invasive species to the big island is being checked out by our esteemed representatives? Can you imagine the loss of our aina( Rocks, fish and birds) That would have been exported off the BI if the superferry was able to have come here??
Lets try to keep it all in perspective. We live in a precious land and should do everything to
keep it as pristine as we can

So you are saying that a ferry would result in the loss of rocks, fish and birds? Really? Rocks?
