Premature clearing of lots promotes growth of albizia seedlings. I see cleared lots sitting for months and months, some for years, w/young albizias popping up. Albeit some are cleared when owners want to sell.

Many huge albizias fell on HPP's main drags and it was HELCO who hauled them off the roads for us. Some of the trunks sitting off the easements are sprouting again. It's been almost 2 years since Iselle and there's been no proactive action w/the albizias lining the main drags where all the power lines are. Some living in HPP had no power for over 2 weeks. There are a lot growing on the sides of Kaloli Dr now. One day Kaloli will look like Makuu if it isn't tended to.

On Kaloli Point there isn't a big albizia problem YET. There are some young ones popping up on a cleared lot. When I was visiting a friend off of Makuu, I heard the crackling and crashing sounds of albizia branches from her neighbor's lot. I had to ask what that was as I'd never heard that before. During Iselle, one tree fell on top of a home. The homeowner said they tried to get their neighbor to eradicate prior. Their neighbor ended up paying for the damages. So there is that aspect of personal liability as well. Luckily no one was hurt.
