Siren on Kaloli Point
#11
Tune in to a local radio station as the siren is going off.. if it was something we need to know they would be broadcasting a message... as the radio stations and civil defense work together.more info can be found on the civil defense website.

..I'm convinced my auto correct is retarded...

Unless civil defense send something out overnight or the news media explain what happened, I suggest calling the Hawaii County Civil Defense number - 935-0031 - on Friday and ask for an explanation.

I tried this evening when I got home but their office hours end at 4:30pm.

The after-hours number is the police non-emergency no. 935-3311, and really didn't want to take it that far...

I called Civil Defense (thank you TomK for the number) and was told the siren malfunctioned. A cancel tone was sent to shut it down and then it went of a second time. I got the impression that they are looking into it further.
