Autism in Hawaii
#11
Good morning and aloha, bystander.

No debate here, I think we've both made our points of view very clear. I understand and respect yours, but I'll just have to disagree with you on this one.

Best wishes, Mark.

Autism is cause by the mercury content in childhood vaccinations. Thermosol was one such mercury based "preservitives". It was also used in contact lense solution. When contact lense wearers started having adverse reactions, they pulled it out of the solution, but left it in the vaccinations for years.

They still manufacture vaccinations with mercury based preservatives. Autism has spread at an alarming rate in 3rd world counties as we have introduced childhood vaccinations. Most children who suffer autism are "perfectly normal" up until age 2-3, which is a benchmark of their series of vaccinations.

Complete BS. This has been proven to be false.

I agree with bystander. Not only is the supposed link between childhood vaccinations and autism unsupported by any scientific evidence (browse the National Institutes of Health website for a plethora of authoritative research), it's a dangerous urban myth which can lead to unvaccinated children.

Measles, Mumps, and Rubella are very nasty diseases, with non-negligible, measurable rates of blindness, neurological damage, even death resulting from the course of the diseases themselves, not from the vaccine against the diseases.

People are free to say what they will, believe what they choose. I believe in factual information, and people who speak from factual information. In this case, toriluve, the factual information that I can find does not support your statement that there is any link between autism and childhood vaccinations.

Best wishes.

I guess progress happens one bill at a time. ;-)

Wonder if it will pass and be signed into law?

As a teacher I could get fired to saying this to any of my parents, but we all have to remember that the Americans with Disabilities Act says that the state HAS TO provide an equal and accessible education for ALL students. Because of this parents hold ALL the power. If a parent can provide evidence that their student needs a service (any service) then they must provide it. There are even county representatives that parents can request to help insure that your student gets the proper accommodations. I have been through Baltimore's Special Education system myself with a learning disability, and now look back in awe that my mother fought so hard that for 3 years I had a weekly private touter that came to my house after school. Did I mention it was all payed for? Parents dealing with these issues be strong. You will meet a lot of people who's only job is, to save the state and county money. Because of this you are going to need to know your stuff. If anyone has more direct questions about what to do in situations feel free to ask. Only with knowledge, like the wonderful parents here, will anyone truly be able to speak for these wonderful children.
