seriously, all four of these songs are great songs for Heart. But would any of them make Rock & Roll's top 100? Personally, I can name a lot more female singers that are waaaaay better than Ann Wilson in my opinion.
Not to kick up any dirt either, but I find Ann Wilson hardly a "Rock Goddess". When one speaks of Rock Goddess I think of Janis Joplin, Pat Benatar, or even Carol King...but a few hits on mainstream FM radio hardly justify this title to Ann Wilson!

Maybe it wasn't your time...Pat Benetar was great - I saw her about 4 years ago.

But Ann Wilson and Heart were MAJORLY FIERCE in my age group and our home town.

Janice Joplin is more of a Rock Legend I think. She's on another playing field.

Carrie, are you from the Pacific Northwest? I'm curious about yor region, Seattle, or Portland?

In your eyes, what is the difference between a "Rock Goddess", and a "Rock Legend"? Plus, you said perhaps it wasn't my time? Carrie, perhaps 'Heart' was more of a "chick band". I know I listened to them, but I don't think I ever bought one single record that they made. It wasn't because they were no good, it's just in the mid seventies people like the 'Rolling Stones' were jumping off big time. 'Blind Faith' was also rocking the world then too. Blind Faith was considered rocks first all-star super group. Plus, for me 'Heart' just didn't have that edgy sound. It was rock mind you, but rock in a very main stream top 40 kinda way.

Carrie, would you put any Heart songs on your list of top 100 rock songs?

I'd have a couple of their tunes in my top 100. I'm from Buffalo, New York. I never thought of Heart as a "chick" band. I was lead female vocalist for a couple of bands and did do a few of their tunes, but also did ZZ Top and other covers...

In my early 20's moved to Los Angeles and lived with a few musicians (room mates) and one of the most talented, picky front men/guitarist and a real womanizer said once if he was a chick he'd want Ann Wilson's voice. That's kinda how we looked at her...she had such a powerful voice and amazing range.

Janis is a real Legend...she's from a completely different era. I think of Grace Slick and Janis from the same time frame. But she's definitely at the top of my list of people I want to meet in rock heaven. LOL

Guess there are just certain bands that tug on my heart still, Beachboy. Heart, Fleetwood Mac, Pink Floyd, Zeppelin, Aerosmith, Supertramp, Jethro Tull, Blue Oyster Cult, Todd Rundgren, Rush - just a handful for me. They take me back in time.

If you don't like them that much, that's OKAY - it's subjective...it was about MY experiences. I don't have to like 'em all - neither do you.

P.S. Blind Faith was awesome together or separately each one in their own right...but I never bought a Blind Faith album...
