I remember reading something about how a company got a grant from the US Dept of Energy to build an algae facility to make bio-diesel, "proved" it was not economically viable, and then went on to make some serious bank growing and selling spirulina in the plant the US taxpayers paid for without any obligation to pay back the money.
So, start your own bioastin plant and make millions!

Believe it or not, there are Researchers from UH and other Institutions as well as Medical Professionals who post on PW, so there is often relevant Medical Information offered on PW. There is also a lot of misinformation and hysteria, so we need to sift through the posts and do our own research to find out what is fact on Supplements, RLW, Dengue and a host of other potential threats to health and safety.

I bought a bottle because I'd read some about it, but also ( truth telling ) because one month I had a Costco coupon. While at Costco, I found where it was shelved, and stood off the side while reading the label in detail. Several people bought the limit of the coupon in the few minutes I was there, and made positive comments while chatting with their shopping cart partner. I bought one bottle to try.
I was never able to take it long enough to tell if it would make any difference. I burped seaweed with with every pill. With / without food, morning / night / mid-day.
I normally have a varied diet, which includes limu with my poke, or nori with sushi , and don't usually have this reaction.

Kenney - I'm aware of the odd UH researcher posting on PW but am not so sure there are medical professionals posting here giving medical advice. I agree you should do your own research, but when it comes to medical matters then I think you really need to make sure whoever is giving advice is really a medical professional. And even then, be careful, as they're unlikely to have met and examined you.
I suspect most medical professionals would not even give advice on PW other than "it sounds like this but go and see a doctor first".

Since Bio Austin is an anti oxidant it
may help prevent skin damage by the sun. Foods that
may protect your skin are discussed in the article linked below, such as carrots, coffee, green tea and more.
"There are definitely foods that we eat that can boost our ability to protect our skin from the sun," said Dr. Patricia Farris, a dermatologist and fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology.

“We do this thing not because it is easy, but because we thought it would be easy.”

Thanks for that link to the tip HOTPE about the foods that help prevent skin damage from the sun.
I like valuable information like that. Even though some of us believe that we shouldn't take tips like this and say things like: "no-one should believe or rely on any medical advice posted on Punaweb."
I believe that even though we should consult with our doctors for many and most circumstances, it is also handy to see these tips in forums like this and aren't always baneful and often beneficial.

How do you know when they are beneficial?

I suggest, do your own Research, then consult your Physician and come up with a mutually acceptable plan of action.

The doctors scope is limited. If it's one of the many herbs and supplements that the FDA doesn't control and the docs don't get kickbacks for prescribing then they usually don't even get mentioned as an afterthought. Our western medicine isn't the only type out there.

Kenney - completely agree. Doctors are usually well aware of the detrimental effects of many dietary supplements and so-called alternative medicines, so always best to consult with them. Western medicine may not be the only one out there, but it does tend to do rather well compared to others.
