And a consideration of the prices here for all the materials/labor etc., verses the prices on the mainland, would have to be considered long before any of this is anything more than just another example of kalakoa complaining.. barking at the moon.

$6500000 / (3.1 * 5280) = $397/foot.

$368/foot if the small section of Government Beach Road was included in that $6.5M (not clear from the article).

Highway 132 reconstruction proves that it's possible to build a highway in Hawaii (with imported materials and local labor costs) for a reasonable price.

A small access road in town should not cost over 7 times as much as a highway. If nobody else cares about this waste of our public money, then my raising the issue is clearly out of line, and for that I apologize.
