Is Amazon Prime worth it to Hawaii?
#11
Then maybe it is a case of a location being singled out for USPS only? Leilani subdivision is definitely USPS only for Amazon. I also know a couple of the carriers. They don't particularly care for the huge increase in packages. Many days they are running separate delivery trucks just with the packages, separate from the rest of the mail.

That's a possibility.   I don't have mail service in my neighborhood.

I live in HPP. Everything I've ordered in the past from Amazon has been delivered to my P.O.Box including items that would only ship with a physical address (which would be returned to sender because USPS doesn't deliver to HPP physical addresses). But I wasn't a prime member. Was wondering if being a prime member made a difference in getting my orders delivered to my HPP physical address?

if being a prime member made a difference

I live in HPP too.
Most of my Amazon orders are delivered USPS.  I'm not a Prime member.
My next door neighbor has Prime. Almost everything he gets is delivered UPS.
Not sure if that can be extrapolated across the board.

Not for me in HPP. We have Prime. Some items ARE shipped via UPS. We use the physical address of the Pahoa post office with our box # since Amazon wonʻt tell you how your order is shipped. If UPS drops it there, itʻs often an extra day until it we get the notice in our box.
Certainty will be the death of us.

Also just received an Amazon package via UPS this week. The dual addressing (PO + physical) confused them, so I had to go pick it up.

How does Amazon not let you enter a separate address per carrier at this point? So many if us have complained...

My galfriend added me to her Amazon Prime membership years ago.
She joins and buys everything like that automatically, without thought, and adds me to them.
To be honest, I rarely ever, join such groups on my own.

At the current prices of $13/mo, or $120/yr, I would never buy it.
I just never buy often enough or in quantities enough to make it worthwhile.
But, because it's a freebie, when making purchases I do use it fairly regular.
I never use the Prime extras or other so-called benefits.
I see them as nothing more than Amazon trying to wheedle you into buying more from them to bring their bottom line up.

I did purchase an Amazon Paperwhite reader.
The only Amazon product I've ever acquired, because of its relative cheap price.
I became very unhappy with it because of the control Amazon retained over it, their interference with my use of my reader as I wanted to.
They require you to add Bluetooth in order to be able to use it.
That gives them access to it anytime they want to make updates, additions, deletions, etc  without your consent or knowledge.

I threw it out and bought another brand.
It's more expensive but is under my control, as all my property should be.
Lately, they do seem to becoming more problematical.
For my needs, even as a freebie they seem to be getting close to needing looking into and assessing.

One thing I've noticed in the last 20 years is that things start out low priced online.
Then with time, their prices start climbing becoming less of a better buy.
Many times becoming more expensive with many more complications than buying locally.

I have an Amazon kindle fire I bought for $50 years ago. I also have a library card and have borrowed dozens of books that I download when I have internet reception. Once downloaded, I can read them everywhere. The Fire also has a backlight that enables reading in the dark. I love it.
Certainty will be the death of us.

I also live in HPP and have Amazon prime for very long time.  Never have any problems with delivery, either through USPS or UPS.

I use two-line address.  First line is my physical address, and the 2nd line is my mailbox address in HPP.

I keep my Kindle offline and sync downloaded books from my PC. You can find books at libraries like this: https://1lib.us/ and then convert them (if needed) with Calibre: https://calibre-ebook.com/
