danielp: oh, not for one minute am i taking your posts as argumentative. i find them very helpful. i just took a look at their website again. i'm going to wait and see if the lack of caulking does the trick. when i did the experiment with the spray bottle, the water clearly came in from the outside. also, spraying the windows themselves showed leaking. the water then sits on this ledge or under the torque bar. this then leads to the seeping. anyway, that's what we concluded. we'll just have to wait and see. hopefully, this solves the problem. also, i wanted the tech to remove the 1/4 round so we could see if the back was sealed and he wouldn't. i just might do it.
no, we have not checked the relative humidity in the house nor the dehumidifier.
regarding the quality of the windows: no where in the contract does it mention which of the three models we have. there is, however, a letter that was inserted by an architectural testing firm that states the V100 meets all performance requirements for a A-C30 and A-C20 rating. so i can only assume that that's what we have. we do have a brochure that indicates the three levels, but that's it. i can tell you that we spent close to 12k dollars on 19 windows.[!]
