Thanks for the great comments,

Here is another article on the taro issue.

http://starbulletin.com/2006/05/18/news/story01.html

Also a good movie to watch is called The Future of Foods. It's great that the community is educating themselves on this issue which was allowed to happen in Hawai`i because the people in general didn't know anything about it and so the politicians allowed open field testing on Molokai, Kaua`i and the papaya's on the big island. I heard that some people got hired to go into peoples yard (telling them how much better the gmo papaya's were) and cutting down papaya trees and passing out the seeds in Ka`u. Several years ago. So we are the tests subjects. Gmo's have not been tested for human consumption yet the EPA allowed it to be inserted in our regular foods that we buy off of the shelf. Kraft I hear is a big one.

Aloha, I'm forwarding this letter from Sarah Sullivan who has been working on the gmo issue with Native Hawaiians and Farmers for a long time. Mahalo Sarah, for allowing me to print this letter.

Apparently the bill was not yet signed by the governor so I'm taking it off the web for now. Will post as soon as I find out.

There is an online petition that you might have to print out but it is here: www.hawaiiseed.org Will keep everyone posted as soon as I get more information.
