If you like Romas, try the Juliet Hybrid from Burpee, great producer of oblong fruit about 1" or so in length, kind of like a mini football. Indeterminate plant and be prepared to harvest shopping bags full daily from 3 or so plants. Great in containers also.

I was very disappointed that my first romas had holes in them with bugs, etc.
Went to Garden Exchange and talked to the owner-guy with long hair & glasses (I think his name is Jeff) and he was amazing. Told me what to use for both fertilizer and organic pest spray. This is a first time full-blown garden for me, so I didn't get about continually feeding rather than spot feeding. Also the type of spray will kill both the leaf miners we have on all our new plants and any worms/bugs, etc. Glad for the help. The other thing is that I just planted several of Dean & Sharolyn's Red Robin Tomato starts and I'm excited about the prospect of these tiny sweet tomatoes in my salad. I'm grateful also for the choisum seeds they have shared with me - I do have plenty if someone wants some. We got some other wonderful starts to add to our growing garden. I'll keep ya posted, but again want to thank Sharolyn & Dean. Their knowledge is vast since they have been in the business for many years.[][][] Carrie Rojo "The sun and moon collide. So just what did he say to fertilize with and what to spray with to protect the tomatoes? Curious minds!! LOL mella l

The plant food is a time released type called Complehumus. We will feed every 3-4 weeks with this. The amount is relative to the size of pot or plant you have. It is an 8-8-8, good for my veggies.
Also using Garden Spray with Spinosad (organic) from Green Light. Once a week is good for a plethora of insects and worms. It has a complete list attached to the back to let you know how long before consumption to spray. We'll see how it works. We have leaf miners and it should take care of them too. Kani, if you can grow beefsteaks successfully, that's awesome! Scotty says he uses X6000, but Jeff told me that's a no-no. I dunno, I'm just learnin' here...[] Carrie Rojo "The sun and moon collide. we use some type of organic soil. can't remember and a natural spray for the bugs--think it's "safer" brand? having a brain fart, sorry. right now, i'm using fish emulsion for the fertilizer and it seems to have helped even the cucumbers.
