Ship 'em to the Mainland

How many months of public assistance does it take to equal a ticket out? As long as they aren't repeats I don't see the problem.

Got a point oink, homeless dumping is bad but the worse thing I ever saw was a case of medical dumping.
I like it here in the shallow end of the gene pool

I could not find anything or get someone to answer what the criteria was for relocating homeless off Hawaii. They gave me the requirements for the elderly, disabled, vets, etc which mirror just about what other states do, so I guess like other states its on a case by case basis. Now, to make sure there are no misunderstandings, this is government relocation at taxpayer’s expense, not private businesses paying someone to move or other such stuff.

I do agree with the intent. Relocating from Hawaii to the mainland can be a challenge financially when your only option is airplanes. It's not like you can go to Honolulu and catch a Greyhound bus to Kansas City, or stand on H-1 with a cardboard sign hoping to snag a ride with some trucker to Atlanta.

One thing I did find out was that children are top on the list. If homeless wino Fred wanted a ticket to California and James & John along with 11 yr old Greg and 6 yr old Gregina was trying to get back home to their family in Maine, because they lost their home after a prolong illness of Jane, but they tried real hard to survive - you can guess who's airfare the state is more willing to subsidize.
