How are you gonna tell the difference between the "watchers" and the "watched"?

A 24 hour a day bike patrol is being implemented by Pahoa Weed & Seed according to the Pahoa Main Street Association.

Maybe we could work in conjunction with them?

Would this be a HI Co. Police bike patrol or civilian? just curious.

Weed and Seed money is being used.

I didn't follow up on the Patrol as there were other things on the table at the time.

I've sent an email to the person who mentioned it for more details.

There is well over 10.5 million dollars of just federal grant money available in FY 08-09 for community anti-crime programs to citizen groups. Groups in the state of Hawaii have received to lowest amount, (below even N. Dakota). In looking at some numbers, Hawaii ranks dead last in applications for these funds almost 80% below what others have applied. The money is there but it looks like community groups just don't apply for the free money.

My first recommendation is to ORGANIZE an official community watch. Get organized first and know what you want, need and can do. Once you’re organized officially, you'll be surprised what you can do.
