Chance to win 50,000 books for kids
#11
Only 7 days to go. Iowa is making a late run but if we keep voting, Hawaii (at no. 1) can still win it.

It's gone midnight on the East Coast so you can vote again. Iowa (20) and Illinois (17) are moving up the chart but Hawaii is still number 1 and will remain there with your help. The only required field is which state you want the 50,000 books to go to, you don't have to fill in anything else.

I'm assuming they're storing IP address and timestamp so voting more than once per 24 hours isn't worth your while.

6 days to go.

Recent movements: Ohio from 13 to 12, South Carolina from 21 to 17,
Georgia from 24 to 22. The Top 10 is unchanged.

Hawaii still at no. 1, help keep us there.

5 days to go.

Thanks for the heads up. I voted and hope HI wins. Our schools need all the help they can get. Am curious what books others selected as recommendations and why. I put Exodus, Diary of Ann Frank, and a book by Dale Evans (roy roger's wife) about her handicapped daughter who died - all books that captured my attention in Jr/Hs and made me WANT to read more.

I can't remember what book got me hooked but Good As Gold
by Joseph Heller is one of my all-time favorites.

A couple of half-hearted campaign attempts by some of the other states,
but Hawaii is still in first place andthe top 10 is unchanged. Not
very inspiring but vote anyway:

All you need to do is fill in the state (Hawaii), nothing else.
Only 3 days to go!

North Carolina has made a surprise jump from 4 to 3!
They have a population about 8 times that of Hawaii so they could still win it.
Only 2 days to go. Please vote now and again tomorrow.

As of now it's the LAST DAY to vote so even if you've never voted before, please take the time.

A lot of movement on the second-last day with DC jumping from 42 to 35, NY from 31 to 29 and most surprising of all a leap from 15 to 10 by South Carolina.

The rest of the Top 10 is unchanged. Hawaii is still number 1, but can only remain there with your help.

Thank you for putting up with the annoying reminders.
