No, not hateful, just protecting someone's identity unless they chose to "out" themselves. I wouldn't be on here talking all about your business, so I know you realize I need to do the same for others.

Of course ...
It is good not to possibly jinx a deal by talking about the specifics online.
I'm happy for you and whoever the sellers might be!

We just had our vacant land go into escrow as well.

Arrgh, buyer got cold feet. I know I shouldn't get emotionally involved in things outside my control, but this just makes me heartsick.

Getting emotionally involved-that's what a lot of clients would really appreciate. Please,do get emotionally involved.
And if it was a good house -could be the buyer's loss.

Waaay back when I was a realtor we had a rule of thumb: Only half of accepted offers will actually close escrow. Back to the salt mines.

Sorry John, It's tough when things get as far along as you and your clients were, only to have things fall through. Been there, done that, didn't like it.[Sad]

John, I felt sad for them and you when I saw this. [Sad]
I hope they get an even better offer, and soon.

(weird, I already made this post, and I thought it took, but came back and no post!)

Yes Puna, I am the "confidential" client and I am annoyed.

Well honestly not annoyed anymore, just moved on and even more determined.

Frankly, I have no respect for individuals whom put a contract on a home and back out - in 1 day.Cold feet ? Perhaps. But understand that you are effecting peoples lives in the process.

This wasn't a case of financing, inspections, title, survey or any of the like. I would respect any of the usual conditions - hey we would do the same if there was an issue on a home we were purchasing, but it is a bit much( or a bit little ) to back out in 1 day.

We have been attempting to return to Virginia since April , as my partners Mom suffered a disabling stroke and we determined that we needed to return asap.

This is the oddest real estate market we have ever been in. After buying and selling 5 homes you think we could figure out how to sell a rather new "lightly lived in" home in Leilani that is priced well. But in 6 months this was the first contract.

Well onward and upward. Yet another showing tomorrow. Maybe they will be the "perfect buyer" we need.

Though I don't need a 14 day period in which a seller can back out for any reason - that doesn't work - especially when you have to make plans to relocate back to Virginia, with pets, and need a home when you arrive.

Anyhow - positive thoughts and prayers in the direction of Leilani would be greatly appreciated.
