I usually read the headlines, at least, on both the Hawaii Tribune-Herald and Honolulu Advertiser sites. I check www.bigislandgrinds.com periodically; unlike most other Hawaii-based food sites, it provides info about this island instead of just (or mostly) Honolulu.

Two of my favorite non-Hawaii sites are the sports section of the Philadelphia Daily News, http://www.philly.com/mld/dailynews/sports/, which is one of the best sports sections in the nation, and Romanesko, http://www.poynter.org/column.asp?id=45, a source of news and commentary about journalism with links to newspapers and TV/radio stations all over the country.

I checked out bigislandgrinds yesterday and liked it a lot. The guy needs to get out to Pahoa though -- can't believe that Luquin's or the Thai places aren't on there.

What ever happened to the little brown bat people? I don't see them posting here or on the Kona web anymore. Their site is still up http://www.littlebrownbat.com/Hilo_House/
but there is no indication of wether they finished the house or not.

I forgot about this cam site that is pretty cool. Just love the sounds, and the night viewing is incredible as well as the day light. This is Pete's watering hole in Africa a National Geo. site. Have fun! Mella

So here is one more site that is pretty fun and has definitions of pigeon words and Hawaiian words. Fun! OK OK I'm off to the boxes LOL. Aloha, Mella

I got goosebumps! I just loved the chanting to welcome the whales and...they're talking back to her! Thanks for that one - I can't wait until Tony comes home to give him that gift!
