Living on Lava

Interesting and useful info. Does anyone know if the insurance out there is by the State or a private insurer. Also, can a unpermitted house obtain insurance????

Lloyds of London. Just for fun I got a rough quote on a simple $250,000 house in Zone 1. Annual premium would have been $2600.00

Just over $200 month. For sitting on moving lava, a good investment if you are actually going to build a $250,000 house there. However, most people building there would build a much less expensive dwelling, thus the $100,000 house would probably be $100 a month.
