Hawaiian Acres Problems
Just to throw in another point: The County of Hawaii does own a lot in Hawaiian Acres. They are considered property owners. HARC sends them a newsletter and a dues request just like everyone else. As a lot owner, the County of Hawaii is responsible for the road-shaped lot as all other owners are.

The one with the PEAR extension on it? Irony.

it would be good to put the stop sign up on the connector road but then there are those rules for signs special pole, certain height and so forth , at this point just give back the signs and call it a day.

can we put one up on the corner of 10 and c where the traffic enters the intersection from 10 onto c ,,, there is a huge impassable canyon there that requires a stop sign before being washed away . remember ,,, turn around and don't drown

the new issue is the parking in front of the community center , no one wants to park in the designated paved parking lot , seems like everybody wants to park in front of the building 3 feet from the door the problem with that is not enough room , or spaces and per the county it needs to be parallel parking so you are not backing into on coming traffic . now there is discussion about going to the county to change the special use permit plan .

Hopefully "they" can get the community center shut down for good. HACA and HARC should be holding their meetings somewhere with appropriate permits and parking, like the HPP community center, or better yet, somewhere in Hilo.

i never thought of that but they should at least have gotten the permit straightened out it has been expired for 15 years . the property is held in trust by individuals in Honolulu perhaps they should be informed about this entire mess

As I pulled up to the community center today, there were two police officers parked there. (They were called about an abandoned vehicle, nothing crazy.) Both the police officers were parked in the traditional perpendicular manner. Maybe instead of just putting a post up on FB, you could make a sign that entails all the rules near the parking area itself. Are those parallel parking rules to be followed all the time or just during an event? I always park in the lot, I figure no matter which way I park in front it'll be wrong Smile
