School Walkouts
Look at that interesting thing over there!

Violence, death, suffering: a problem for the species, worldwide. Just because some of it is "justified" by officially-declared hostilities doesn't make it right or proper.

Anyone who says "too many guns (in the US, at schools)" is ignoring the bigger picture.

You could say that about anything and everything.

We have to start somewhere with making the world an even better place.
How about with making it a bit harder for people to slaughter school children.

Maybe start by teaching children that the behavior isn't acceptable to begin with? This last 20 years it seems that youth have lost respect for others.

I was razzed a site on Reddit for being too argumentative. I asserted the differences between pro-gun and gun control sides are intractable.

There are only a few topics like this, where positions are very set. Abortion and Belief in God are two others. I said it is pointless to try to change minds.

What you are really doing is trying to change the minds of third parties. Other readers. The undecided.

Not sure how big of a neutral audience there is here. Might be some spinning of wheels. But good luck to both sides. (I favor some gun controls, but moderately.)

So said every generation about the following, since the dawn of time.
Just more delaying tactics from the gun manufacturers. Less guns = less shootings.

Hey PaulW - guns have been a part of the American fabric since before we became a nation. I would posit that you find yourself in a deeply unamerican mindset and would probably benefit from relocating to a more socialist country. I'm sure you have heard the old saying - 'Like it or Lump it'?

I'll stay here, why don't you go somewhere where they like shooting each other, such as Honduras? Such fun with your beloved guns.

PaulW - I own one firearm and it is not beloved. It is a tool in the box like all the rest. I do enjoy my freedom and I do not appreciate being told what I can and cannot own in the privacy of my own home. I refuse to let a few bad apples spoil the bunch. I demand to be treated in the manner in which the constitution says I am entitled to.

You anti-gun people would be better served becoming anti-shooter people and putting your efforts into lessening the number of people in America who feel the need to indiscriminately kill their neighbors. Or perhaps moving to a country with more restrictions? I swear if you mention Australia again, I'm going to buy you a ticket there!
