...Not once did she lie to me, but her last days will be forever tainted by the dishonest, violent and deceitful behaviour of people like you.
OMG Tommy, this is so far off the wall it begs the question if you really are as educated and refined as you prop yourself up to be. I mean gee man, how is it that in one sentence you invoke the sympathy of others (and I do hope you cat's passage is as peaceful as one can make it) while being a heartless dispassionate a**hole all at the same time? What did anyone do to you to warrant such an outburst? God I hope that vile side of you goes back into whatever hole you keep it suppressed in. T'is very unbecoming of you brah!

dakine you've been a lot more insulting than usual lately. Hope nothing really bad is going on in your life.
If I were governor I would separate the issues. TMT is going to be built, don't want to have to drag you out of the way but will if necessary. However, time to have serious discussions. Putting the telescopes aside for the moment, what are the other concerns? The poor treatment of Hawaiians has manifested in many ways. Let's list some of them and discuss at town hall meetings. For example, I'm haunted by what Opihikao told us awhile ago about keikii not even having slippers in school. The big question is what to do about past wrongs. That's a tough one. Is the present generation responsible to make right things that have happened in the past? What things? How far back do you go? What would make things better? Getting right to the meat, what are the feelings about reparations? Sovereignty? I would be having private meetings, too. Would want to find out what each faction really wants, besides no more telescopes. Let's say TMT will be the last. But surely there is a lot more to talk about than telescopes. What people want may or may not be possible. But you can't solve a problem until you find out, completely and thoroughly and honestly, what it is. If I run, I won't expect your vote, dakine Pam in CA

"Tonight I'm saying goodbye to a wonderful feline companion who's been with me for eighteen years, but her time is coming to an end."
Well, I had it in mind to express real condolences as I can most definitely sympathize. I hope dakine's display, which unfortunately is not so untypical of himself, doesn't take anything away from that intention coming from another PW member.

I hope you're doing ok Tom. It's difficult when a pet passes, no matter how long they're with us, it's never long enough.

Thank you PM2. What I find most disturbing about dakine's post is that a few months ago he emailed me to complain about certain PW members' "outbursts" and that they should be tempered. Since then, gypsy69 posted a direct threat of violence against myself, a post he subsequently deleted but not before several people read it. He eventually was forced to apologize, but it took a heck of a long time to do so. Just recently, he posted that he goes around punching people in the face. Given the continual lies gypsy69 has posted about the observatories and astronomers, I stand behind my statement and am astonished by the double standards dakine has displayed.

PS. As for little Bubbles, the cat, got some good news from the vet today, and she's going to be around a little longer than we expected, so it's not quite the end of my feline family yet. She is coming to the end of a very long and happy life though, but I get to spend a little more time with her than expected, which really cheered me up today!

"PS. As for little Bubbles, the cat, got some good news from the vet today,..."
Excellent. That brought a smile as my current feline companion just clicked her claws across the wooden floor here in this room to check on things.

So glad Bubbles is getting better !
[] dakine should apologize. What he said was really nasty and uncalled for, imho. I know he doesn't like me, so it's not like I can persuade him, but he went way over the top this time. When someone might be losing a beloved pet the insults should be put aside, even if only temporarily. Pam in CA
