Candidate Eligibility
#21
I think we have come full circle to ethics and issues as mentioned in another topic.

Can you trust TEH with issues where you do not agree with her, if her ethics may be questionable? My stance has been if I can believe in someone's ethics, whether I agree with them or not, I will go along with the common good.

This issue may have come out because of Sativa's questionable tactics, but now that the subject of the exemption is on the table, what do you do with it? Does it change your vote? or does everything else overcome this issue?

Did anybody catch that TEH said in the video "When I was married." What was she talking about? Isn't she still married?

I am only going to say this once to you because IMHO it is in your best interest(s):

Put the shovel down and step away from the hole.

Kathy asks;
"are you seriously saying you don't care if your councilperson to be commits property tax fraud?"

Tiffany pays taxes everyday. I'm going to wait until it shakes out before I pass judgement.

I will say this however; I really don't want my councilperson to be a violent, foul mouthed, mentally unstable psychopath(I don't even have to mention a name, do I?).

edit; typo

"Carol, are you seriously saying you don't care if your councilperson to be commits property tax fraud?"

Reread what I said, nowhere did I say that. I did say that I am amazed that anyone associated with RJs campaign is throwing stones, not the same thing at all.

It's right there online the $ amount exempted from tax on the Hilo house because she claims it is her primary residence. There's nothing to shake out. Public record. She just went on the record saying she does not live in that house and has not been living it and yet the exemption is not filed on the house where she does live.

Sativa, she is saying when she got married, she changed the title from her own name only to her and spouse as tenants in the entirety. There is nothing at all strange about doing that, or wrong. It's a good way to hold title and means if she gets sued that no one can go after the house because it also belongs to Jeff undivided.

All that has nothing to do with the exemption. All that matters is whether it's her primary residence and she has no other principal residence such as the home in HA. She may have lived in the Hilo house when she filed the exemption, making it a legal exemption, but when she moved to HA she was required to change it and did not.

It's there in black and white on the www.hawaiipropertytax.com site.

Assuming Tiffany does pay taxes, I assume that if she does live in District 5 like she claims, that she has been renting out the Hilo property in question. (Who would leave it empty?) Has she been paying GET on the rental? Who knows? If she cheats on one tax, who is to say she doesn't cheap on multiple taxes? Does she pay taxes on her website "donations" she receives? Who knows?

Kapohocat, I am going to ask you again what "questionable tactics". In a democracy, if I can't ask a question or check out some information without you casting aspersions on my character then what is it all about?
