Green harvest can be shut down any time the State and County have the will to do so.
State has already taken the position (publically and repeatedly) that "Federal law pre-empts", so it's endlessly ironic that State supports eradication efforts while also profiting from "sanctioned" production efforts -- and hypocritical, considering that State makes money both ways.

Uhhh, this is the same guy:

Man faces 31 charges after police find marijuana and firearms at residence
The family resemblance is kind of obvious, around the eyes. There is this interesting trend coming out of Puna of ex-felons filing lawsuits against the county, spearheaded by Petricci and Dedman who have been extremely successful filing lawsuit scams against the county and the county rolling over like a kitten with a hairball stomach ache.
This guy has a wrongful death civil suit going on.

Let's review:
A man is arrested for growing and possessing marijuana. He has enough cash and product in his home to feel he needs to protect it with a loaded pistol, a loaded shotgun and a 15-round magazine for a pistol.
That same man sues the state and dispensary system because “They’re basically trying to make money off the backs of sick and poor people.”
It would be interesting to compare the prices of a dispensary, to the "Righteous Dude" prices at which Mike Ruggles sold his product. In states like Colorado or Washington, did prices go up or down after legalization?

Yes -- we just have to wait for dispensaries to open; prices in other states are irrelevant due to that whole "interstate transport is a violation of Federal law" thing.

leave to a foreigner to think that the county or the state have any sway over the feds.
green harvest will continue until Uncle Sam says so - not because some pissant county in some pissant state has “the will to stop it”.
The feds just raided yet another dispensary in a state and county that voted for medical marijuana but please tell me again how states rights work mister maple syrup

What are the laws in BC - Mr Canada ?
Been hearing for many years now that BC Bud is da bomb - second to Humbolt and 3rd to Puna Buttah ,and B4 Mrs Ray Gun started her just say NO Thank You to beer and whiskey and driving under the influence of same deadly carcinogens.
We do not know if Jen has any relation to her uncles brothers aunties cousin or not so until some one here knows exactly the heck with you's .
Every one is an arm chair quarterback here - some are grouchy and some are not.
Several always want to just argue .
Luckily we all live in Puna / Hilo and whether we like it or not we all are neighbors .
Mr Ruggles does make some valid points and it may even reach the HIGHEST court in the land ( no pun intended .

I agree Mrs. Mimosa.
A lot of this speculation does nothing but get us lost in the weeds.

IF you had any idea how it worked in Hawai'i county, you'd know that the green harvest, while funded by the feds, is carried out by our own PD. If they stop applying for the green harvest funding and stop carrying it out, it goes away. I think just about everyone but the Chief and the Police Union are in favour of this, but hey, tell me again how my country of origin determines my knowledge of how things work. We have a name for guys like you in Canada. Rhymes with Rick. And stop using mainland examples if you want to talk local Mr. Indian Ocean.

Aloha mai e, Mrs. Mimosa:
Since you asked, the laws in BC are very similar to Hawai'i. It is illegal at the federal level, but enforcement is a very low priority in the Province (RCMP) and cities (city police). Medical marijuana is legal. The feds are planning legalization recreationally for next year, but we'll see what happens. I couldn't tell you the relative quality of BC bud, not in my area of expertise, but I hear that a lot of mortgages were being paid by growing it in various communities.
I suspect the green harvest is a way to provide work for our local PD and that's the main reason it's carried out. It's not like they make arrests, just fly around and chop down any obvious plants in the jungle. It's fun to watch, but can interrupt a good afternoon nap if they fly through at the wrong time. I know it upsets a lot of citizens and neighbors.
The law suit is obviously a ploy to revert to the way things were done before the dispensary law or to push for a more open set of regulations.
