Here's a guy that was appointed to the House of Reps, seemed to do a decent job but decided he wanted the Senate platform and risked a lot (i.e. a fairly secure House seat).
Ed Case was NOT "appointed"; he was elected twice (once in a special election to finish out a little bit of Patsy Mink's term and then for a full term).
