Also, if a husband of a deed holder in HPP is not on the deed can they talk during owner input? Maybe this is allowed, but I thought it was only the deed holders (lot owners) who could talk on owner input.
Most couples are both on the title, but each lot only gets one vote. I don't know if that means only one of them gets to talk during member input, or if they would have to split their 2 minutes to speak. Usually only one of us can make it anyway, so I never looked into the details. People with multiple lots get multiple votes, but I doubt they get extra speaking time.

This is a question about a husband who is NOT on the deed who has been attending the HPPOA meetings and has been talking during owner input.
Sorry if you thought I was referring to you. I welcome your input.
Still curious if a person who lives in HPP but is not on deed can talk during owner input.

Aloha Deborah, I suggest you get clarification on who is permitted to speak during "owner input" from a current Board member .
On the topic of posting a video on our website, good idea.
Our Website information
has been posted on a volunteer basis by an employee during her off time. In today's world, where many simply do not have the time to attend meetings, I for one believe that posting accurate and timely information on our website is a must and Important enough to be part of an employee job description.

We also have many, many lot owners who live off island and could not possible attend. Although having done it when I was involved with a different non profit, I can say that slogging through hours of video of minutes that were filmed with a basic video set up and mic is not a lot of fun.

Aloha Hawaii Deborah. It just occurred to me that if it turns out that a person not named on a deed is NOT allowed to speak at meetings, it follows suit that they may not vote or participate in Committees either. I think this bears more looking into.
As usual, there are more questions than answers.

Last night the Board "appointed" (anointed?) one new Board member. 2 more board members resigned yesterday and another one the day before that. Now there are 3 NEW vacancies!

Business WAS conducted last night? I walked out shortly after 2 board members left. I assumed there was no quorum left. Help me with the count. Terry left first............then June and Bruce.....didn't see Tom there. Is his seat the 3rd vacancy you speak of? Thanks

thats all I can report on the video taping. It did happen and seems that it will continue to happen. The board said the next general meeting can be video taped.
The board got some business done. The sound system was researched, reported on and voted to purchase. The survalience bids were reviewed and voted on to purchase. A new District 3 board member was voted on and sworn in. The road traffic counters have been returned and will be set up.
There may be more, but I am not a secretary, so others can share.

I thought the guy stopped video taping after a 30 minute stand off. I remember someone saying let this topic be discussed at a membership meeting and shut the camera off. Then a member asking the guy if he'd be willing to sign a statement saying he wouldn't post the video on the internet and YouTube. He said he had no intentions of doing that but that he was meerly challenging the board because he didn't think it was right. His challenging the board cost us all 30 min of wasted time and the cops were called.
I don't remember the board telling the membership how this was resolved. Just that the guy ended up at the board table signing something.

There are 6 left. 3 openings now. Bruce resigned and June a day later. Now Tom has resigned.
There will be a new committee- Emergency Action Committee. Last night a member asked what the board was planning on doing about the upcoming storm. Apparently there is a glitch between the civil defense and HPPOA because we're a private subdivision. We'd be last to get assistance. A board member asked the member to form a committee and chair it. She accepted and is looking for more volunteers.
There is an Albizia Committee that was formed at a previous meeting and they're looking for volunteers.
Yes business was conducted last night. They managed to get through everything and be done by 8 PM.
